Seachem Ammonia Alert™

seachem-ammonia-alerttrade-447

Ammonia Alert® is an innovative colour device for continuously detecting and monitoring toxic free ammonia. A sensor changes reversibly from yellow to green to blue, relative to the ammonia concentration. No test kits, chemicals, or procedures are needed. The device detects less than 0.05 mg/L (ppm) free ammonia and alerts you to the #1 killer before any sign of stress. It lasts over a year. Marine or freshwater use.

In the absence of free ammonia the unit will assume a yellow or faint yellow-green colour. It is normal for the dry sensor to have a greenish hue. It may take up to a few days for a dry sensor to equilibrate with the water. No sampling of water, chemicals, or test procedures are required. The presence of the free ammonia is detectable continuously with a response time of about 15 minutes. Response to decreasing ammonia is slower, requiring about 4 hours to go from TOXIC to SAFE on removal of ammonia.

Ammonia Alert® lasts over 9 times as long as competing products (over a year compared to 4-6 weeks). Ammonia Alert® is also almost half the size of competing products (1.5" x 2.5"). It's small, clear, and unobtrusive, so it won't detract from the view of your aquarium.

Experienced aquarists check their aquarium water regularly. This allows taking measures, for instance against algae, quickly and easily, without the need to use chemicals. The sera aqua-test box contains the following test kits:

Tests:
  • pH value (pH)
  • total hardness (GH)
  • carbonate hardness (KH)
  • ammonium/ammonia (NH4/NH-3)
  • nitrite (NO2)
  • nitrate (N3)
  • phosphate (PO4)
  • iron (Fe)
  • copper (Cu)
  • chlorine (Cl)

API Carbonate Hardness (KH) Test Kit

api-carbonate-hardness-kh-test-kit-838

Tests tap water & fresh or saltwater aquariums for carbonate hardness (KH). Can be used to determine the proper dose of pH buffers.

API High Range pH Test Kit

api-high-range-ph-test-kit-465

Use to measure pH changes in marine aquariums, aquariums with African cichlids, and very alkaline tap water. Reads the pH of water within the high range of 7.4 to 8.8. 160 tests per kit.

API pH Test Kit

api-ph-test-kit-418

pH is the measure of acidity of water. A pH reading of 7.0 is neutral. A pH higher than 7.0 is alkaline, and a pH lower than 7.0 is acidic. Maintaining the aquarium at the proper pH ensures optimal water quality. The pH should be tested weekly, since natural materials in the aquarium (such as fish waste and uneaten food) can cause pH shifts.

  • Reads pH from 6.0 to 7.6
  • For freshwater use only
